According to a United Nations definition, "a volunteer is a youth or adult with a personal interest and civic spirit, who has decided to dedicate part of his or her time, without remuneration, to diverse forms of activities, organized and non-organized, for the social well-being of others.
When analyzing the reasons that mobilize people in the direction of voluntary work, it can be found, among others, that there are two fundamental components i.e. personal matrix and the need to donate time and effort relating to an inner inadequacy which leads to practice and socially, one becomes conscious of the problems when facing reality, which then takes one to fight for an ideal and compromise for a cause.
Altruism and solidarity are social moral values that come to light from the integrity of each individual. On a social and political perspective, it is presumed that the practice of such values will watch over for the maintenance of the social order and for the progress of the man. The generosity (strong cultural and religious heritage), strengthened by an ideal, belief, values together with a pledge for determined causes are vital components of enlistment.
It should not be forgotten, that, with the potential transformation
of these attitudes than it can bring on an interior growth of the individual
himself.
If some doubt still remains over the question of being a volunteer, this is
an invitation to try this enriching experience because to do something for someone
else is something fantastic!
It is only necessary to have the courage to say YES! "Together
we can make the difference"
