Questions

Are you prepared to have a dog???

Nine questions that should be answered before thinking of adopting a dog.

1.      Can I be responsible for a living creature that will live for around 12 years?

2.      Does someone in the family suffer from allergies?

3.      Does everyone in this family accept that they must live with and have the necessary patience for an animal?

4.      Who out of the adults is ready to look after the dog every day with feeding, grooming and exercising?

5.      Will the dog have the company of a person or another dog during the day?

6.      Who will look after the dog during the holidays?

7.      Do I have sufficient financial support to buy adequate food for the animal and take it to the vet?

8.      Do I have sufficient space and/or conditions for the animal to run and play every day?

9.      Do I want a friend or only an animal that is chained up or locked up in a pound?

There is no result to this test nor is it marked in the usual way that traditional tests are done.

It only helps to make you think before acquiring a pet, as you need to know exactly what you are doing. The decision to adopt an animal should be pondered carefully as there are many dogs in existence on the streets which have been abandoned by their thoughtless owners.

If, with any of the questions you feel that your future friend could be a problem, delay your decision until you have had time to rethink your thoughts
